After a five year wait, restaurateurs Sam and Eddie Hart open the second branch of Barrafina, this time occupying a corner site on Adelaide Street in Covent Garden. Much like the original and hugely popular Barrafina on Frith Street in Soho, the menu here will be made up of classic and contemporary tapas, using meticulously sourced and seasonal ingredients from Spain and the British Isles, but with the addition of some new dishes which take inspiration from recent trips to Spain. The restaurant includes a long marble top bar, with 29 stools and an open kitchen, and there's a lower ground floor space for private dining and events which has an open kitchen with its very own plancha. Nieves Barragan Mohacho, who has worked with the Hart Brothers for over ten years oversees the running of the kitchen as Executive Head Chef, and the fabulous Jose Etura heads up the front of house operations. Just as at the original, it's first come, first served - form an orderly queue, tapas lovers, it's worth it.
