Expanding from their original location the "much-revered" (Financial Times) Bea's of Bloomsbury cafe opened its third location on the Kings Road, Chelsea on 30th September 2011 - a soft launch before the grand opening on 14th October (it's only open Wednesday to Sunday until the official opening). The story began in February 2008 when, having turned down the position of head pastry chef for Nobu London, Bea Vo brought her Amercian style tea room to Bloomsbury. Soon the small shop had attracted a big following. As well as delicious pastries, cup cakes and baked sweet treats they also have some tempting savoury dishes including sarnies and salads. The coffee is of a high standard (it's Square Mile - for the coffee boffins) and you can get interesting teas (blackcurrant and hibiscus, anyone?) as well as Bea's own brew of chai tea - a nice touch. This third venue, ideally placed on one of London's busiest shopping streets near Beaufort House and the Bluebird Cafe, follows the opening of a second location in October 2010 at the glossy One New Change development in The City, near St. Paul's.Bea's of Bloomsbury images
