From the team behind popular neighbourhood pizzeria Zia Lucia - famed for its 48-hour slow fermented doughs - Berto is an authentic artisanal pasta restaurant. Like its sister restaurant, which sits right next door and uses four signature pizza doughs, Berto offers a selection of pasta dishes freshly made from traditional, wholemeal and gluten free flours. Expert pasta maker Piero, otherwise known as Berto, is the inspiration for the restaurant and has worked closely with the owners to devise a menu of traditional pasta dishes. Having owned his own pasta shop in Ronciglione, just north of Rome, for the past 25 years, he certainly knows his stuff. All in-house staff have been trained by Berto himself and diners can watch the pasta making process thanks to a pasta bar at the centre of the restaurant. Tuck into everything from fresh egg tagliatelle and pappardelle to gnocchi and ravioli, all served with either classic or inventive sauces, and wash it down with an Italian wine or London beer.
