Boulestin opens 2nd September 2013.
Named after legendary French chef Marcel Boulestin, this St James' Street restaurant from Joel Kissin takes its inspiration from the original Boulestin which stood on Covent Garden's Southampton Street from 1927 to 1994. Boulestin, a luxury bistro restaurant, and the more casual Cafe Marcel, both pay homage to the pioneering writer, restaurateur and the world's first celebrity television chef. Serving mostly classic French food, the restaurant follows the philosophy outlined by Boulestin in his many cookbooks which include 'Simple French Cooking for English Homes' - a collection of authentic French recipes first published in June 1923. This book did much to popularise French cuisine in the English-speaking world; will the new Boulestin inspire a renewed passion? We'll have to wait until September to find out.
