Following a successful pop-up in 2016, Albert Adrią - aka 'the world's best pastry chef' - returns to Hotel Café Royal in 2018 with Cakes and Bubbles, a permanent all-dessert restaurant. Having made a name for himself at the world-famous El Bulli - the only restaurant to top The World's 50 Best Restaurants list five times - Adrią went on to create his own food empire and now runs some of Barcelona's hottest restaurants. As the name would suggest, Cakes and Bubbles serves a curated menu of sweet bites, cakes and signature desserts alongside sparkling wine and champagne. Classic options include a chocolate éclair with peanut praline, a frozen caramel and lemon cake, and a passionfruit and chocolate cake while a more adventurous dish is The Cheesecake, an intriguing blend of coulommiers cheese, hazelnut and white chocolate.
