Restaurateur Will Ricker replaces his Great Eastern Dining Room in Shoreditch with Casa Negra on the same Great Eastern Street spot, as a second incarnation of his Soho Mexican street food restaurant, La Bodega Negra. Like its older sister it has been designed by NYC's Serge Becker but we can expect something quite different in look and feel (so no 'sex shop' signs then?). At Casa Negra the menu is shorter and more affordable, and the interior takes its inspiration from a "traditional English house in which some Mexicans moved in and opened a pop up restaurant." Downstairs there's a separate club, with a stage for live acts and a 2am license on both floors should provide a hip, party atmosphere.
