Chilango at Chancery Lane is an excellent Mexican restaurant which brings the same concept as the popular American chain, Chipotle to the UK. You can get a classic burrito filled with meat or veg, green rice, beans, cheese or sour cream with fresh salsa and lettuce. Pick a hot salsa to finish and you've got a meal that puts a bland sandwich in the shade. All the food is prepared on the premises in the open kitchen where you can see the marinated chicken, or juicy steak grilled right there in front of you. As well as burritos there are tacos (three soft corn tortillas), salads on a bed of lettuce and totopos (tortilla chips topped with cheese, beans, meat and salsa) on the menu. And the name? Chilango is Mexican slang for someone who's moved to the bright lights of Mexico City looking for fun and adventure. Looks like we've found the London equivalent.
