Just down the road from the original Shoreditch Grind, behind a Grade II listed facade, east Londoner David and his friend Kaz have their seventh Grind coffee shop. More than just a cafe, Clerkenwell Grind is a restaurant and raucous late night club-bar in a huge space - over three thousand square feet. Spread across two floors, the interior is all pink velvet booths, sweeping marble bars and royal blue paneling. The coffee is top notch, roasted just half a mile down the road in Shoreditch. Breakfast includes dishes like bright beetroot-cured salmon and kimchee and mushroom breakfast croquettes. Lunch and evening meals are cooked over charcoal, with small plates like Isle of Mull scallops, aubergine and goats curd, and main courses of miso-glazed lamb spare ribs and red snapper, served with wines from Italy, Australia and New Zealand. Keeping you buzzing till late in the night, cocktails are served till 2am to a soundtrack spun by Kaz's friends and guests from Shoreditch Grind Recording Studio.
