The delicious rotisserie chicken is the main reason to visit Cocotte in Notting Hill, a cosy and stylish restaurant with timber clad walls, plant pots, exposed brickwork and copper piping. Marinated for 24 hours in a special mix of herbs and spices, the succulent roast chicken is slow cooked and then finished on a traditional rotisserie spit, on display in the centre of the restaurant, to crisp up the skin. The result is a deliciously tender chicken that can rival even the best Sunday roast. Each portion comes with flavoursome gravy and there's the option of adding other sauces like garlic mayo, home-made barbeque and mustard. Sides range from healthy but delicious salads - the chargrilled broccoli will have you coming back for more - to indulgent treats like truffle mac and cheese and roasted baby new potatoes. There's also roasted root vegetables so you can opt for a traditional roast dinner combination. Hearty salads like the Raymonde, which combines quinoa, bulgar, yellow pepper, cherry tomatoes, peas and miso dressing, are a meal in themselves but can also be pimped with diced roast chicken, croutons and seeds. Wash it all down with a moreish glass of organic red and conclude the occasion with a devilish slice of chocolate and hazelnut tart - pretty much one big slab of Ferrero Rocher.
