He was one of the original pioneers behind Zuma and now chef Endo Kazutoshi, a third-generation sushi master, has set up an intimate sushi spot, with just 24 seats, on the 8th floor of the Rotunda at the former BBC headquarters, at Television Centre in White City. A very special treat for sushi lovers, a small group of diners can sample the 15 course omakase ('chef's choice') menu within a specially designed space which has its own bespoke sushi bar. The evening begins with Japanese-inspired cocktails followed by the unveiling of the hidden restaurant. While eating the freshest scallop oshinogi, lemon sole usuzukuri and wagyu beef agemono you can discuss the intricacies of the preparation with the sushi master himself. "It was probably the most perfect meal I have eaten in a restaurant in more than 20 years as a critic" said G iles Coren in The Times, reviewing Endo at the Rotunda before it officially opened in March 2019, the same year it earned a Michelin star.
