- Visitor Information
For healthy and efficient fast food in a central location try London's inaugural Herman Ze German outlet on Villiers Street between Charing Cross and Embankment. Open seven days a week, early till late, this compact eatery (with its provocative logo) specialises in German delicacies such as Herman's famous currywurst (chopped sausage in a curry and tomato gravy), bratwurst and freshly baked bread - all inspired, perhaps, by the 1985 album by Scorpions drummer Herman Rareball (entitled "Herman ze German"). You can also get leberkase (a type of flat meatloaf-esque breakfast sausage), garlicky fleischwurst, beef chilli and pork sausages (all in fresh crusty buns), washed down with the alluringly named Fritz-Kola (or a Union coffee) and served with, believe it or not, fat free chips. The popular 27-centimetre wieners are boiled and then grilled and all the meat comes from small farms in the Black Forest. Their wurst is ze best they say - and who are we to disagree? It's definitely wurst a look in if you're in the area...Location map of Herman Ze German
