The fourth Honest Burgers restaurant, the Portobello branch located a few doors down from the Electric Cinema, joins branches already opened in Brixton, Soho and Camden. One of the best loved burgers in London, Honest Burgers was set up by Tom Barton and Phil Eles, two cooks who met at the Brighton fish restaurant Riddle and Finns, and has been "part of a recent revolution in London burger quality", words ascribed to the original Brixton outlet by Jay Rayner in The Guardian in 2011. "What matters," he believes, "are the patties, made from 35-day aged beef from the Ginger Pig, seasoned only top and bottom, and served on a slightly sweet, glazed brioche-like bun." And at these prices all that meaty goodness is surprisingly affordable too.
