Following the success of their first restaurant on Great Portland Street, twice Michelin starred executive chef, Nacho Manzano, brings his award-winning Spanish tapas restaurant, Iberica, to Canary Wharf's Cabot Square. Manzano earned his two stars as chef patron of Casa Marcial in his home town of Asturias, Spain. He has appointed his former development chef, Cesar Garcia, to run the kitchen at this Canary Wharf outlet where the menu features Spanish classics like Croquetas de Jamon and three types of Iberico ham from Cordoba, Huelva and Salamanca. The best characteristics of the Great Portland Street original have been successfully replicated in London's financial hub: tapas with an experimental twist, fine Spanish wines - some only available at Iberica outside of Spain - all served in a light and airy room, created by Barcelona-based Lazaro Rosa Viola. A display of jamon legs greets you as you walk in the door, there's a long bar overlooked by a mounted bull's head, wine bottles displayed along one wall, giant menus, and two mezzanine floors above. But it's the tapas that attracts and you can't go wrong with choices like beetroot and red fruit gazpacho - one of Garcia's signature dishes - light and creamy cheese and ham croquettas, pan fried scallops and the Iberica burger made with secreto pork loin.
