From the Danish team behind 1 Lombard Street comes a new Italian restaurant on the former site of French restaurant Papillon in South Kensington. Located on Draycott Avenue near the intersection with Brompton Road, Ilia sees the authentic French cuisine of Papillon giving way to fresh, simple, well-sourced, delicious Italian fare. Little is known yet, but a proposed menu is doing the rounds. Antipasti include stewed baby octopus, bruschetta and crostino, warm artichokes, baked aubergine, rabbit, veal sirloin and warm artichokes; stand-out pasta dishes are wild boar ragout and pumpkin ravioli; there's a range of tartares, soups and mozzarella salads (Caprese, Parma Ham, marinated courgettes); meats include roast beef, sirloin steak and pork belly, while marinated tuna loin, seabass and langoustine features for the pesce.
