Jak'sThis family owned Mediterranean café, bistro and deli opened in 2008 and has fast become a favourite with Chelsea and South Kensington locals who treat it as a home from home. Jak's is a father-and-son enterprise inspired by fresh, local produce, healthy eating and all the delicious flavours of the Mediterranean. There are a range of exotic salad and vegetable dishes, including tzatziki, tabbouleh, while the generously portioned mains include delicious classics such as organic beef or vegetable lasagne, chicken pie, broccoli cauliflower cheese soufflé, stuffed aubergine, moussaka, as well as a range of simple meat and fish dishes. Jak's home-made cakes, fresh fruit salads and scrummy desserts (including a delightful tiramisu) would put a smile on any Nonna's face. Of course, you can just enjoy the homely décor in the company of a coffee - but you'll find it hard not to resist staying longer to see if the food whizzing past tastes as good as it smells. For a mouth-watering glimpse at some of the enticing morsels on the menu go to www.jakswaltonstreet.com. Celebrity fans include Orlando Bloom, Frank Lampard, Lady Isabella Harvey and Rebecca Loos - it's not hard to see what attracts them to the place: it's warm and friendly, the service is relaxed but attentive and the food is on all counts excellent. What's more, office and home catering and private dining room entertaining are all available.
