This Westfield venue is the second branch of Malaysian restaurant Jom Makan to open in London, following the success of the original Jom Makan next to the National Portrait Gallery. Dom Makan (which means 'Let's Go Eat' in Malaysian) has an appealing menu with a range of noodle and rice dishes, sides, salads, specials and shared Hindangan plates. It hits the mark with its prawn and chilli-spiced beef dishes, while the tender ginger-spiced lamb curry, served with roti canai - traditional flaky Malaysian flat bread - is one to savour. Signature chicken satays are slightly disappointing and crispy fried anchovies served with peanuts something not to be repeated - but on the whole this is tasty food at reasonable prices. Portions are both generous and filling while staff are attentive and friendly. The restaurant is spacious and sparse - to the extent that it lacks real atmosphere - but if you find yourself in West London's biggest shopping mall and your criteria is 'Let's Go Eat' then you can do far worse.
