Vegetarians beware! There's a strong whiff of meat in the air and it's coming from Central London. The creators of Meatwagon and Meateasy bring us MEATliquor, a deliciously seedy burger joint serving late night feasts and lotsa liquor. Co-founders Scott Collins and Yianni Papoutsis are more at home in pop-up shops and burger vans but this venture sees the guys putting down roots in a permanent residence on Welbeck Street, north of Oxford Street. The menu mixes classic American fare with quirky modern concoctions like the self-confessed 'dirty' fried chicken and the new euro-trendy kurrywurst. Burgers sizzle on the grill and come with sides of deep fried pickles and chilli cheese fries. A cheeky drinks list created by the Soul Shakers accompanies the fried delicacies, providing inspired creations like the Lagerita or the Full English Martini, served with a bacon coated quails egg.
