Making the most of Mediterranean ingredients and Greek hospitality, or 'filoxenia', Meraki is a contemporary Greek restaurant in the heart of Fitzrovia from the Waney family (Roka, Zuma, The Arts Club, Oblix). 'Meraki', Greek for the love and soul that someone puts into their work, is led by Greek chef Dimitrios Siamanis whose menu includes bottarga from Mesologgi, graviera cheese from Naxos and galotiri cheese from Crete. Slow-cooked ox cheek with hilopites from Trikala, artichokes and graviera, baked cod wrapped in vine leaves as well as mezze dishes, chargrilled meats and whole fish dishes are also on the menu. The heavily Greek-influenced drinks list features wines from independent growers alongside craft beers and cocktails made with Greek herbs. The restaurant has two entrances - the main one on Great Titchfield Street leads to the 100 cover restaurant and the side entrance on Foley Street takes you straight to the bar - and two al-fresco terraces. Close your eyes and you could be on a Greek island.
