Opening in October 2012, Naamyaa is an all day modern Bangkok style cafe from Alan Yau, the man who brought us Wagamama, Hakkasan and the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant Yauatcha. Described as a 'sister brand to Busaba Eathai', it's hoped that Naamyaa, located within the Angel Building in Islington, will be more accessible (and cheaper) than its sibling with the intention of rolling out the concept. The interiors are by David Archer, who has previously worked with Yau on Aaya and Hakkasan, and feature modern lighting and handmade Thai bricks and ceramic tiles which - like much of the menu - reflect old Siam traditions. With a capacity to seat 110 diners, Naayaa will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering a menu which features the naam yaa sauce after which the restaurant is named - cooked in traditional terracotta pots and served with fresh rice noodles.
