New Street GrillD&D describes its New Street Grill as "a gutsy British grill restaurant" which, loosely translated, means you get steak and top quality at that. Sirloin on the bone, filet, rib-eye, T-bone and rump with Bernaise, peppercorn or Stichelton sauce are all on offer at this restaurant based within the City's oldest surviving warehouse built by the East India Company. Prime West Country Black Angus, 21 day minimum dry aged, grass fed beef is served with side orders of triple cooked chips and leaf spinach. Grouse 'served in the English manner', calves liver, and Dover sole are examples of the other main courses on the menu which concludes with lemon posset, blackberry and shortbread Cumberland rum nicky among the desserts. The New Street Grill is just one of the food outlets within the vast Old Bengal Warehouse. Fish Market is a contemporary fish restaurant with a more laid-back all-day dining feel and Old Bengal Bar is the place to go for a cocktail. A fourth alternative is the New Street Wine Shop which offers a menu of light bites, including charcuterie, cheese and olives to go with the impressive selection of fine wines, available to take away or drink at one of the sharing tables.
