No. 11 Pimlico Road opens in March 2013.
On the site of The Ebury, where Pimlico Road meets Ebury Bridge Road, No. 11 Pimlico Road replaces the popular gastropub with a restaurant and bar offering all-day dining, an event space on the first floor and an on-site wine shop. The difficulty they will face is in persuading fans of the former Ebury that their replacement is not only different but better. Describing itself as "a reaction against the formulaic gastro-pub", the pub promises freshly baked pastries for breakfast, grilled steak sandwich and lobster salad for lunch, and main courses ranging from coconut and basil chicken with chilli dressing to tomato, lemon and ricotta tart. It's the first venture from Darwin & Wallace, a company created by former All Bar One brand manager Melanie Marriott who has put general manager Sarah Deakin in charge. She brings with her five years' experience at Geronimo Inns who own a string of gastropubs from The Eagle on Askew Road in west London to The Castle in Islington, north London.
