From the Darwin & Wallace group, which is also behind the beautiful No 197 Chiswick Fire Station and other well designed neighbourhood bars, No 17 Dickens Yard in Ealing offers two big bars, DJ brunches and a traditional Sunday roast on weekends. Set within Dickens Yard, a development of 700 homes and lifestyle brands like Triyoga, Charlotte's W5 and Benham & Reeves, the airy venue is a bar first and foremost so drinks are good quality - from cocktails to wine and beer. Bottled beers include Hackney based Wu Gang Chops The Tree and Session IPA from Brew By Numbers. Food is fresh and includes vegetarian and vegan dishes. Breakfast starts the day with banana and ricotta pancakes or breakfast rice bowl while spicy crab cakes, mini honey sausages and grilled halloumi are served throughout the day. Known for its stylish interiors, in Ealing the modern glass box of a room is cushioned with generous lounge seating made by French House. Oak sharing tables by Craft B and handmade bar stools by Jan Hendzel Studio are a sign of clever sourcing while hand-picked artworks from the Hang Up Gallery add to the visual appeal of the place.
