Tucked under the Millennium Bridge, Northbank Restaurant and Bar serves modern British cuisine in a slick environment with perfect views over the Thames and Tate Modern. Head chef Peter Woods (ex-Tante Claire and The Belvedere) is loyal to his West Country roots and sources his fresh ingredients directly from farmers, heading out occasionally to catch some seabass himself from his boat in Newhaven. Favourites include fresh Dartmouth crab and clotted cream tart, grilled Brixham Dover sole and Falmouth lobster spaghetti. Northbank offers two courses for ?12.50 from its daily set menu and on Friday customers can enjoy traditional British roast beef with all the trimmings. There's a great riverside terrace which is bustling in summer time while the wine list is extremely extensive. The place opened to rave reviews in September 2007 with The Independent labelling it "an unmitigated success".Northbank Restaurant and Bar images
