Osteria Dell'Angolo is the latest offering from leading restaurateur Claudio Pulze. After humble beginnings as a bellboy Pulze went on to great success with Canteen, Aubergine and Zafferano. Three years ago he set his sights on Westminster and created an upmarket contemporary Italian restaurant to cater for the throngs of hungry politicians. Head chef Massimiliano Vezzi is known for seasonality, locally sourced ingredients and classic Italian cooking. Pan-fried monkfish and Umbrian lentils are followed by hazelnut parfait and sweet desert wines. Elegant but comfortable, the dark wood and soft leather furnishings are warmly lit. There are discreet booths and a lounge bar which serves coffee, cocktails and Italian snacks. A private dining room complete with plasma screen can be hired for business lunches and parties. Three lunch courses cost £20 or a la carte dishes start at £8.50.
