If your thirst for knowledge leads you to the British Library and, once there, you find you have an actual thirst you can quench it at one of four cafes and restaurants on site. Peyton & Byrne runs all of the catering outlets at the library, delivering high quality food, tea and cakes at three coffee bars - the Cafe, the Last Word, and the Espresso Bar & Cafe - and the restaurant. The most formal dining is at the stunning first floor King's Library restaurant which serves everything from hearty breakfasts to hot lunches including made-to-order stir-frys from the wok station and afternoon teas (from 3pm). In the spring and summer, the Last Word and Espresso Bar come alive with people taking up the seating area around the courtyard. Up on the first floor the restaurant overlooking the Kings Library has an outside terrace which is also a great place to have lunch when the sun shines.
