If you, like many other Londoners, are drawn in by the tempting smell of traditional fish and chips then be sure to visit Poppies in Spitalfields. A '50s-style restaurant with a genuine feeling of East End warmth and comfort, Poppies serves sustainably sourced fish alongside chips that are hand-cut and peeled on site. The fish is cooked in a crunchy fresh natter, made from a secret family recipe and it's all seasoned with healthy lashings of Sarsons vinegar and served in Poppies' own newsprint. As well as fish and chips, owner Pat Newland and his team also serve a wholesome breakfast menu including British delicacies such as Smoked Haddock with Poached Egg. Customers can either dine in or take their fish and chips away with them, wrapped or open.Poppies images
