Roti Chai is a modern looking Indian which combines 'Street Kitchen' and 'Dining Room' proper in one mews building behind Oxford Street. John Lanchester in The Guardian advises going upstairs for the street food rather than down into the dining room, and singles out the 'bhel puri' (puffed rice) for special mention. The Independent's Lisa Markwell agrees, claiming it to be the best version of the dish she has ever tried: "Fresh, crisp and with a zingy tamarind sauce" elevate it "quite some distance" from street food.
