It was during a family holiday to Italy that Annie Brook and her husband Seth first thought of the idea for Slice of Ice. They were surprised that the ice cream parlours they visited on their trip didn't offer alternatives for people who had food allergies or intolerances for dairy products. So if you are diabetic, intolerant to lactose, allergic to gluten or on a special diet you can still indulge at this ice cream parlour on Hampstead's fashionable Flash Walk. They even (thoughtfully) do a sugar free gelato made with rice milk - if you worry about the fattening effect of the full fat version. Italian ice cream company Il Gelato di Ariela (Ariela's ice cream) make the ice cream to Italian recipes using ingredients from Italy - in fact, everything is from the land of the gelaterias except for the fruit in their sorbets which is bought locally.Slice of Ice images
