London Fields pop-up Som Saa establishes a permanent home in Spitalfields in 2016. What started out as a three month residency at Climpson's Arch in Hackney proved so popular it lasted a year. Food at the restaurant takes in all areas of Thailand from curries with fresh coconut milk to stir fries made with a mix of Thai and seasonal British ingredients. You'll find pad chaa aharn talay (stir fried prawns, clams and squid with lime leaves, young peppercorns and wild ginger) and pad grapow pbet (stir fried duck with holy basil and chillies and a crispy duck egg over rice) on the menu. Dishes for sharing include tom yam kha moo thort (a hot and sour soup with whole deep-fried pork hock). And for afters there are coconut milk puddings, including khao neio durian (sticky rice and coconut cream with durian) - a personal favourite of Andy Oliver, the MasterChef finalist who, along with general manager Tom George and chef Mark Dobbie, is the talent behind Som Saa.
