Named "the most fashionable bakery in Britain" by GQ when it first opened in February 2015, Southerden Patisserie and Cafe lives up to the label with interiors by design duo Eley Kishimoto who collaborated with Studio MacLean on the fashion-forward Bermondsey Street cafe. Previously a run-down hairdressers, the site opposite the Fashion Textile Museum has been transformed into a beautifully crafted patisserie store with Eley Kishimoto's eye-popping graphic wallpaper pasted floor to ceiling. They create the perfect backdrop for Melanie Southerden's bespoke delicacies, including delicious salted caramel doughnuts, baked daily and locally and served with Monmouth coffee, specialty teas and Matcha beverages. The cafe also trades from nearby from Spa Terminus market, SE16, on Saturdays.
