This top-notch fish and chip shop started out in Stoke Newington in 1998 when Danny Sutton opened a fishmongers on the high street. Fourteen years later, Danny and his wife Hana - who makes home-made pickles and desserts for the restaurant - opened their first restaurant on the same street. A branch in Boxpark followed and now they've opened this outlet in Islington. The great thing about Sutton & Sons is that ingredients are sourced from their own fishmongers. They serve the finest traditional deep fried fish, coated with batter, and hand-cut chunky chips - no stodgy batter and limp, greasy fries here. And if you're not in the mood for traditional fish and chips, there are more refined dishes like sea bass, tuna or mackerel, chargrilled and served with a seasonal salad. Specials include tuna burger, lobster sub, grilled oysters and moules mariniere. Tempura prawns, whitebait or calamari are also on the menu, best enjoyed with a cold beer or bottle of fine wine from their extensive list.
