T.E.D (Think.Eat.Drink) restaurant puts the 'green' into gourmet with quality ingredients cooked in a way that makes the most of their nutritional benefits. So whether you want a power smoothie or a feast of seasonal vegetables T.E.D can satisfy your healthy hunger pangs with homemade salads, cured meats and well sourced fresh fish. In the evening, dishes are larger and more structured so you get choices like pan fried fillet of sea bream with soft fennel and fresh herb dressing, herb marinated Scottish beef fillet with roasted red pepper, salsa verde, broccoli or pearl barley risotto with porcini and truffled herb mascarpone. Biodynamic, carbon-neutral and traditional wines are among the choices on offer and the bar has organic spirits and mixers as well as cocktails made from fresh ingredients. Housed over two floors, the eco-sensitive interior makes use of reclaimed tiles, up-cycled tables and chairs, a lava top bar and re-used stained glass windows. An open-plan kitchen reveal the chefs at work whilst a counter displays an array of salads and tempting homemade breads and pastries. The man behind T.E.D, Jamie Grainger-Smith, was previously at The River Cafe, he helped Jamie Oliver to set up Fifteen Restaurants and co-founded Arthur Potts Dawson's multi award-winning Acorn House (now closed) in Kings Cross before launching the T.E.D consultancy which offers advice and support to the food and drink industry on sustainability.
