Located on Hackney Road, just beyond the Columbia Road Flower Market, Taste of Bitter Love is a cute coffee bar for connoisseurs who'll appreciate the choice of coffee varieties supplied by the local Square Mile coffee company. There are only a couple of bar stools but if you can manage to get one, take a pew and sample some of their food. The menu includes homemade soups, seasonal salads, tasty tarts and savoury muffins as well as a tempting range of
pastries from Clarkes. The decor is quirky and unique - think antique coffee pots and vintage finds - but the main attraction is undoubtedly the coffee: it's not bitter and for the Aussie owners this cute shop is clearly a labour of love.
