Owned by the husband and wife team behind steamed bun specialists Bun House, Alex Peffly and Z He, Wun's is a Soho restaurant and bar which captures the spirit of 1960s Hong Kong - a time when the city's nightlife really took off. Set over two floors, the downstairs floor has a neon-lit bar, velvet seating and an eclectic soundtrack of psychedelic and go-go style music. Nostalgic Cantonese dishes from Z's childhood include bar snacks of spiced peanut and fried whitebait and XO bone marrow with fried mantau. Larger dishes call on a secret family recipe for sour plum braised duck as well as clay pot rice dishes made with soy braised aubergine rice and Iberico char siu rice. Sweets include egg tarts, osmanthus goji ice cream and comforting childhood fried milk. The drinks list reflects more unusual Chinese spirits. Sip on cocktails like the herbaceous green bamboo and quince or spicy plum and 'coke' or try a craft beer by breweries like Moonzen and Young Master.
