As a former Smokehouse , John Salt and Pitt Cue chef, Neil Rankin knows his stuff when it comes to BBQ food so it comes as no surprise that he's now opened his first solo BBQ joint. Aiming to bring a taste of Dalston's restaurant scene to Soho, Temper roasts entire animals over a fire pit in a centrepiece open kitchen, creating quite the show for diners. Priced in 100g portions, the meat on offer includes beef from Essex, pork from Thirsk and lamb from Wales, which is all served smoked and grilled with a mix of different cuts available. Sourdough tacos are also on the menu, with fillings such as soy-cured beef, ham and pineapple, blowtorched mackerel and crab and pickled onion pork skin. The drinks menu, meanwhile, is on trend with an entire section dedicated to gin and tonic as well as an extensive wine list, beers from London microbrewery Wild Card and a generous offering of mezcal.
