From house kombucha to 'soaked' cocktails, everything on offer at The Soak is centred on fermenting, soaking, steeping and brining. The menu, devised by head chef Chris Zachwieja, who previously worked for Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens, puts wild mushroom kombucha in a poulet noir dish and pairs fermented mooli with wood pigeon, pearl barley koji and anchovies. Music is also an integral part of the restaurant which is part of the Grosvenor Hotel, right by Victoria Station. The space includes a music platform where DJs play music until 2am on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday - in an area where there's not much open at that hour. George Angelopoulos, general manager at The Soak, has curated a carefully selected drinks list of New World, organic and biodynamic wines as well as craft beers. Soak up the atmosphere, inspired by classic Parisian bistros, and admire the tall arched windows, high ceilings and the grandeur of the space.
