Theo Randall, who made his name as head chef at The River Cafe for over 15 years and who left to launch Theo Randall at the InterContinental, is behind Simple Italian, a 'casual dining' restaurant at Hotel Indigo London Kensington in Earl's Court. Working closely with head chef William Leoni, Theo has drawn on the ethos of his cook book, My Simple Italian. Cicchetti, for those times you want a quick, light bite with an Italian craft beer, brings choices of grilled Bramata polenta with smashed salt cod and red anchovies, and bruschetta with roast tomatoes, fresh marjoram and olive oil. Larger anti pasti (perfect for sharing), primi and secondi dishes include carne salata - a fresh rocket salad with cured Black Angus beef. There's also a choice of classic, comforting pasta dishes like pappardelle con ragu di coda di bue - fresh pasta with slow cooked oxtail ragu and red wine. And you can recreate the simple Italian food cooked here at home, using ingredients bought from the restaurant's on-site Italian deli.
