After two years as the home to The Clove Club, in one guise or another, Upstairs At The Ten Bells in Shoreditch was revamped and relaunched in 2015 as a cocktail bar with an eclectic glass collection, Gilbert & George art and a Tracy Emin neon bar sign. The famous Upstairs room at the top of the historic Jack The Ripper pub (aka the The Ten Bells pub) in Spitalfields is a vintage lounge bar with a solid bronze dog called Archie. The drinks menu covers craft beer, fine wine, classic cocktails and a 'shorty cocktail' list where gin is mixed with organic bee pollen, palm sugar and black cardamom. In a twist on the Old Fashioned, Scotch is mixed with apricot liqueur, cinnamon and jaggery, served with a beer on the side. Food is designed to compliment the cocktails - so you get candied jalapeno peppers and Burrata cheese with smashed cucumbers to accompany your rum, ginger, fresh pandan and mandarin bitters short.
