Lebanese and Middle Eastern street food specialists Yalla Yalla pop up on Shoreditch High Street from 5th February 2013 for six months or so. This is the third such restaurant currently open - there are sister restaurants in central London, in Winsley Street near Oxford Circus and in Green's Court off Brewer Street in Soho - as word of their fairly priced excellent Beirut street food gets out. The menu includes fresh wraps, light mezze and specials like kibbe lahme (deep-fried lamb and cracked wheat parcels filled with confit onions, minced lamb and roasted pine nuts) and soujoc - charcoal grilled Lebanese sausage served with salad, tomato and pickled cucumber. The Shoreditch pop up essentially follows the same recipe for success as the original Soho restaurant, set up by chef Jad Youssef and partner Aga Ilska in 2009. It's big enough to seat 40, including a canopy with heaters, and there's cushioned low-level seating as well as tables with stools with live entertainment on the weekend in the form of belly dancers and DJs.
