On the Kings Road corner where Eight Over Eight used to be, an extensive refurb has rebranded the restaurant as e&o Chelsea , sister to e&o in Notting Hill, a celebrity favourite since it opened in 2001. Setting the standard for Pan Asian cuisine in the naughties, Will Ricker has a long history of creating trendy restaurants. Here he teams up with Fraser Carruthers of Raffles to create a striking open plan restaurant with a tropical feel and a dining space centred on a grand palm. The marble top bar, which has doubled in size, seats 22 and is the perfect place for signature cocktails like the Chelsea Flower and the Rose Petal Mule. Executive head chef, Aaj Fernando, brings flavours from Sri Lanka to Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea to the menu. Signature dishes include lobster noodles, king crab dumplings and fiery king prawn jungle curry as well as black cod and chilli salt squid.
