Doing time has become a popular way of spending your free time as the success of Alcotraz shows. Two years after the first behind-bars cocktail bar launched on Brick Lane, a second London prison opens in a Covent Garden basement as a three month pop-up from Friday 4th October 2019. A cocktail bar where you get an immersive theatrical experience, Alcotraz Penitentiary processes 'inmates' who must smuggle their liquor - vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whisky or whatever your preferred moonshine is - past the guards. Wearing orange prison jumpsuits, prisoners are put behind bars in closely guarded prison cells where they meet a cast of shady characters and the jail's bootlegging gang who mix illicit liquor into cocktails. Brought to you by immersive cocktail storytellers, Inventive Productions, the group has plenty of practice in putting on themed nights out with the Western-themed Moonshine Saloon and Pirates of the Hidden Spirit.
