Journalist Rick Wells and ex-Monmouth manager Jorge Fernandez clearly enjoy the simple things in life and that's what you'll get when you go to their Fernandez and Wells shops where the coffee is high quality, the deli produce delicious and sandwiches simple but perfectly done. Their Beak Street coffee shop won Time Out's Best Coffee Bar in 2007, the year it opened, and they haven't rested on their laurels since. Round the corner from their small Beak Street cafe there's a takeaway / deli in Lexington Street offering high quality Spanish produce and their third venue is also nearby in St Anne's Court. Branching out beyond Soho, this fourth Fernandez and Wells cafe in the East Wing of Somerset House is ideally situated so you can enjoy a Monmouth coffee while taking in the view over the famous fountain courtyard. Each of the three rooms at F & W at Somerset House has been decorated in the same paired down style as the original cafes, with white walls and wooden floors, set off by stone and metal accents, but here you also get to enjoy the unique setting of Somerset House - not only a spectacular neo-classical building but also one of London's top attractions which hosts regularly changing must-see exhibitions. Come evening, when they stay open until 11pm, the menu changes from sandwiches and cups of coffee to raclette, tapas and wine by the glass.Fernandez and Wells images
