There's no need to travel all the way to Munich to celebrate Oktoberfest - you can do it in SW6 all year round. The Oktoberfest Pub on Fulham Road prides itself on bringing the world's biggest beer-drinking party to London each and every month of the year, and not just in October. It's a big Bavarian music show every weekend, with serving girls and boys dressed up in lederhosen and traditional garb, beer pumps filling huge two-litre glasses with Munich's finest Paulaner brew, an array of German classic dishes such as pork knuckles on the menu, and a live Oompah brass band banging out Bavarian ballads as you dance on the tables. Oh, and if you're very lucky you might run in to the delightful girls in the above picture. It's a bit quieter during the week but there are large screens for live sport, a pool table and darts as well as organised poker tournaments. The Oktoberfest Pub also caters for corporate functions and private parties, such as birthdays, hens and stags.
