The Oxford Arms was the first pub in London to get a license for all-day drinking on a Sunday so it should be a great place to while away a Sunday afternoon with a pint. Should be, but isn't. No, this is not the kind of place that lends itself to a sit down with the Sunday papers. It does have a beer garden which can be a bit of a sun trap, however it's best known as a sports pub - with large TV screens showing live matches (they charge an entry fee for England games). The atmosphere is great during big events like the European championship or a World Cup - it was adopted by Brazilian fans during the 2002 World Cup. By contrast but just upstairs is the lovely Etcetera Theatre where you can watch comedy and fringe theatre, certainly a more civilised way to spend your leisure time.
