A wine bar which began as a pop-up hosting wine nights in a former bank vault in Shoreditch, Sager + Wilde is run by husband and wife team Charlotte and Michael Sager-Wilde and offers premium and rare wines by the glass, an unpretentious approach and friendly service. On the premises of an old pub on Hackney Road, the interior which has seating for up to 60 people, has lovely stripped back Edwardian parquet flooring, exposed Victorian brickwork and is candle lit to create a cosy atmosphere. There are more than 30 different wines on offer on the well researched wine list which is served along with a simple food menu of cured meats, grilled cheese sandwiches, cheeses, tartines, and homemade pickles.
