Right on Tooting high street, the striking, 19th century facade of The Castle hides a contemporary pub with a stunning garden, light-filled orangery and seasonal British menu. Once an iconic music hall which saw the likes of Rod Stewart and Peter Sellers perform, The Castle is now a spacious and friendly pub with open fireplaces and an elegant dining area in the light and airy orangery overlooking the garden where you can book a 'mini castle' - wooden booths which can seat up to 20 people - the best place to enjoy an al fresco glass of Sipsmith summer cup in summer. The food is all about the best of British with choices of Dingley Dell pork, roasted rack of Welsh lamb, and British spring chicken served with rosemary and Sussex Charmer wedges, roasting juices and watercress. On Sundays succulent roasts celebrate the great tradition and come with homemade Yorkshire pudding and ale gravy. Leave room for pudding and you can choose from salted caramel and vanilla cheesecake or Bakewell tart, fruit compote and clotted cream. Enjoy with a fine wine, craft beer or a pint of Meantime's Brewery Fresh straight from the copper tanks on display.
