The Fox Tavern has had a blinging makeover, turning from pints and sports on the TV screens to champagne and DJs on the decks, reopening in May 2009 as The Crescent Champagne Bar. The West Kensington location isn't the most obvious choice for a chic champagne bar, the area between the A4 and North End Road is hardly known for its bright lights. But, undeterred, The Crescent brings a bit of West End glamour to West Ken with cocktails and champagne served under the chandeliers while DJs play dance floor fillers for a crowd of up to 200 people. If you want to hire your own space, there are three VIP rooms, all individually styled to different themes: The New York Room, The Paris Room and The Moscow Room. As well as the fizz there's an extensive cocktail list designed by Kane Phillips which includes the classics as well as some unusual creations. Slap and Tickle (for example) is a blend of Kanu coconut rum, Plymouth sloe gin, lemon, lime and mango syrup served on the rocks. Complimentary cashews come with your drink and nibbles of things like olives and sweet peppers are also available. The Crescent brings a welcome flash of glamour to this corner of West Kensington.
