The smallest of four pubs on Kew Green, The Greyhound closed down in 2009 amid fears for its future. Now back open and with its former owners back at the helm, the charming Tudor-style riverside pub has come on leaps and bounds. With a much needed sprucing up and new flash menu from the Greedies chain, the Greyhound has made the successful step up to gastropub status - but without marginalising the casual beer drinker (there are four cask conditioned ales on tap including new guest ales each month). There's a fair sized beer garden around the back which is used for BBQs in the summer - there are also covered and heated pods that are great for the winter. A much better option, however, is taking out your drinks and sitting out on the edge of the Green, from where you can hear the thwack of a cricket ball from the nearby local pitch.
