After transforming The Sebright Arms on Hackney Road from boarded-up pub into an East End institution, the team have now set their sights on The Vincent, just up the road on Hackney Downs. Making the most of the building's double height glass windows and pillars, the space is filled with greenery, tile-topped tables and booth seating. During the warmer months, seating spills out onto a large terrace with room for 50. Morning pastries are followed by an all-day menu of homemade salads with rice and grains as well as smoked hoisin crispy duck with peach and pomegranate, to takeaway or have in the restaurant. Fried chicken with aioli and the classic cheeseburger are also on the menu. Behind the bar are brews on tap from Hackney neighbours Five Points and Pressure Drop. Home-infused herb and fruit syrups help make the cocktails zing and a concise wine list has been carefully curated by one of the three co-founders, Richard Temple.
