One of the largest universities in the UK, University College London (UCL) has 27,000 staff and students. With more than 4,000 academic and research staff, it has the highest number of professors as well as the most female professors at university in the UK. In addition to degree level educational courses the university runs regular events and has its own Bloomsbury Theatre, opened in 1968 as The Central Collegiate Building Auditorium. There are UCL campuses at Bloomsbury, at the Whittington Hospital, Archway, and at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead.
